Artist Statement

My work centers on the intersection of the Gospel message and the intricacies of human experience. I aim to build a bridge between biblical truth and everyday struggles, engaging both faith-based and secular perspectives through storytelling.

In past projects, Iโ€™ve wrestled with themes of spiritual torment, mental illness, grief, doubt, sexuality, and faith. These are not just abstract ideas but deeply personal realities I seek to bring to light, visualizing the invisible battles, emotional tensions, and existential complexities of our shared, yet individual, human journey.

As a director, I value a collaborative storytelling process rooted in conversation, dreams, prayer, and theological reflection. This approach helps me explore complex topics such as identity, belief, and the human condition with depth and care, illuminating nuances and inviting others to reflect on their own stories in the process.

Aesthetically, I use vibrant lighting, bold color, and shadow to symbolize the intense and unseen struggle between spiritual forces. Through elements of magical realism and surrealism, I draw from biblical imagery: angels, demons, the eternal battle between good and evil to express how divine messages and spiritual warfare unfold in real life. My work blends narrative and experimental forms to challenge conventional storytelling and create space for divine presence to break through
distortion, metaphor, and the unraveling of the human spirit.
